Claims

At Bidwell Insurance Brokers we act as your advocate, liaising with insurers, loss adjusters and other parties on your behalf, keeping you informed at every stage and ensuring your claim is progressed efficiently and fairly.

Our role is not simply to place your insurance, but to stand alongside you when you need us most, providing practical guidance, expert advice and dedicated support from first notification through to settlement.

There are two ways to contact us should you need to make a claim.

Steps to follow

What to do in the
event of a claim.

All insurance policies include conditions relating to the notification and handling of claims. To help protect your entitlement to cover, it is important that you comply with these requirements.

If an incident occurs that may give rise to a claim, you should:

Immediate Notification

Notify us immediately of the incident or circumstances, providing as much information as possible. In the event of theft, attempted theft or malicious damage, the matter should also be reported to the police without delay and a crime reference number obtained.

Avoid Admissions

Do not admit liability, offer a settlement, or promise payment to any third party without prior insurer approval. Doing so could prejudice the handling of your claim, compromise your insurer’s position, and potentially affect your entitlement to policy cover.

Provide Supporting Evidence

Supply any information, documents, photographs, invoices, or other evidence requested by us or your insurer as soon as reasonably practicable. Timely provision of supporting documentation will assist in the assessment of your claim and help avoid unnecessary delays.

Forward Legal Correspondence

Forward immediately any written, summons, letter of claim or other legal correspondence to us unanswered. Delays in doing so may prejudice your insurer’s position and could affect your entitlement to cover.

Contact Claims Helpline

Where applicable, report claims directly to your insurer’s dedicated claims helpline. If your policy includes this facility, we will provide the relevant contact details and guidance on the claims process.

Contact Claims Helpline

Prompt notification and full cooperation throughout the claims process will help ensure your claim is handled as efficiently as possible.
